Basic hydration support

Mobile IV hydration from $175

For screened, eligible adults who need fluid and electrolyte support at an approved Tucson-area location.

What basic IV hydration provides

Basic IV hydration focuses on fluid replacement. It may be considered when a stable adult has had poor fluid intake or meaningful fluid loss and drinking has been difficult. The nurse reviews the reason for the request before deciding whether mobile treatment is appropriate.

When oral fluids may be enough

If you can drink comfortably and keep fluids down, water, electrolytes, food, cooling, and rest may be the better first move. An IV is not automatically faster, better, or necessary for every episode of thirst, fatigue, headache, or dry mouth.

What screening considers

  • Current symptoms and how quickly they developed.
  • Recent vomiting, diarrhea, exertion, heat exposure, alcohol use, or travel.
  • Medications, allergies, pregnancy, and relevant health conditions.
  • Vital signs and the nurse’s assessment at your location.

Know the limits

Mobile hydration does not diagnose the cause of illness and is not emergency care. Severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, confusion, fainting, chest pain, breathing trouble, stroke symptoms, or suspected heat stroke requires a higher level of care.
